The Polyandrist

August 1, 2019

Greg was a good husband, for the most part, when Lauren was twenty-two. Loving and understanding of her various eccentricities, but not particularly ambitious, and unable to provide the finer things in life she so badly craved. Then came Nolan, a handsome man with a good income, capable of giving her the things she wants. Dividing her time fairly between the two men is a challenge, until Gordon comes along. Then it becomes impossible.

Gordon has an eye for Lauren, but he’s married to Erica Dupree, a filthy rich heiress to a billionaire oil tycoon, and therefore has to be careful. There’s a prenuptial agreement giving Gordon twenty million in the event he and Erica divorce. Unless Gordon is unfaithful to Erica. Then he gets nothing. In order to rid herself of the man and avoid paying the twenty million, Erica offers Lauren one million dollars to seduce Gordon. Bedding Gordon is the easy part. Keeping it from Nolan and Greg long enough to get the payment from Erica proves more difficult than she initially thought it would be. It becomes tougher still when Erica is murdered.

REVIEW

Five stars

This book will have you on the edge of your seat!

The Polyandrist by Mason Malone is a wonderfully written and richly descriptive novel with brilliantly drawn characters. The author weaves a well-crafted thriller with intriguing twists and turns that will captivate the reader from the first page to the last.

I enjoyed the story, character development, and dialogue. There were plenty of plot twists that I didn’t see coming and that added to the book’s mystique. When I stopped reading to work, I found myself wondering what happened in the book, and replaying parts of the novel in my head to see if I could figure more out. It has been a while since I enjoyed a book this much. It’s a well-written thriller with perfect pacing. Not much is as it appears here, which is just the way fans of the Mystery, Thriller, and Suspense will want it.

The book description gives a sneak preview: ‘Greg was a good husband, for the most part, when Lauren was twenty-two. If you want to find out what happens, you’ll just have to turn the pages for yourself! However, I will say it was a fantastic read. This is my second time reading this author and I must say I was very impressed yet again.

This was a fascinating and captivating read that had me immersed from the beginning. The story flowed from scene to scene with ease, and the author shows exceptional ability when it comes to storytelling. There are plenty of attention-grabbing moments in this page-turner that will take the reader on a gripping journey.

The Polyandrist had every element a good story should have. An intriguing plot, attention to detail, but best of all fleshed out, well-written and well-rounded character development. There’s an abundance of well-illustrated scenes that make you feel like you are right there in the story, and that’s something I really look for in a good book. It’s one of those stories that come along once in a while that makes you want to read it non-stop until you get to the end. I’m giving nothing further away here. And this, I hope, will only add to the mystery and enjoyment for the reader!

There’s no doubt that The Polyandrist is an exceptionally well-written book. The authors other work, THE CHAMALA QUEST: A DOCTOR LIBERTY BELLE CORCORAN NOVEL would also be recommended reading. Five stars.
