Did You Know? is the title for a series of children’s books I have written about the energy of love. “Love-Light” is the first of the series and focuses on our connection to this universal force and to each other. Because everything is energy and energy is supposed to flow unimpeded to be at its best, this story teaches how we can recognize and respond to what our energy is doing, learning to be proactive with it instead of reactive. Though this series was written for children, its message is for everyone. I especially hope that families will be inspired to read it so that they can practice growing their love-lights together.
Creating positivity and mindfulness in children…

More often than not children relate themselves with the characters of a good story. In such circumstances, reading fiction can help them to get inspiration from the characters. These stories often portray real life implications through anecdotes, and as such makes it easier for them to understand the complex aspects of life. Moreover, reading these stories at regular intervals can actually help them to develop a positive outlook towards life, which eventually proves beneficial for good character development. This, however, is not a typical character driven children’s book. Instead, it reads more like a gentle how-to guide for children that exudes peace and calm.
Did You Know?: love-light by Lisa White will help to create strong, independent, happy children while developing essential life skills. This is a clever rhyming picture book that introduces young children to mindfulness and meditation. There are exercises and at the end of the book to further reinforce the message. It’s a delightful and charming book for the younger reader. I read it with my grand-kids, and they loved not only the message portrayed, but also the amazing illustrations by Stephanie Rosas. I thought the text and illustrations worked very well together.
Author Lisa White writes in a wonderfully simple, rhyming, and imaginative style that will guarantee the attention of young minds. If you ever wanted to bond even more with your children or grandchildren, this would be a lovely story (and gentle exercise) to share with them.
It seems to me that this book was created with a lot of love and joy and it’s clear that the author really enjoys creating such wonderful stories. Thank you for sharing with us the gift that you have obviously worked so hard to refine. We’ll be looking forward to seeing what’s coming next. A well-deserved five stars from us!
Lisa (Thompson) White is a Hoosier by birth but moved to California with her family in 1964 when she was six months old. Her father, a Methodist minister, had been transferred to a church in the Central Valley, which is where Lisa grew up.
Lisa received her B.A. in Liberal Studies from UC Santa Barbara in 1987 (Go Gauchos!) and went on to get a teaching credential at California State University, Stanislaus.
Lisa met Ken White at the same time that she started teaching. Two weeks after meeting, they were engaged and then married four months later! It was definitely kismet. Their 29th anniversary is on December 1st!
Lisa taught elementary school for eight years and then quit to stay home with her children, Andrew and Maggie, whom she also home schooled for a couple of years. Both are now in their 20s and are making their own marks on the world.
Lisa has always had an interest in metaphysics, which she thinks of as being the energy beyond what we know of the physical world. She sees life as a melding of science and art, science being the physical part of what we know, and metaphysics being what enlivens the physical. This interest led her to her studies with Donna Eden and Dr. Sue Morter, both exceptional leaders in the field of energy medicine.
Lisa’s book is a culmination of her experiences with teaching, energy medicine, and life! The idea for writing a series about the energy of love came to her in a flash – and here we are with book #1!
